24 hour urine collection is required; add 6M HCl as preservative to the 24 hour urine container; explain collection instructions [refer to relevant phlebotomy aid (Phleb/Aid7) or lab handbook section on 24 hour urine collection or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjF-9n0FOrw video]. Submit 10mL aliquot of 24 hour urine. TOTAL 24 hour urine volume (in mL) is required (mandatory).

Clinical Utility

Catecholamine tests are most often used to diagnose or rule out certain types of rare tumors, including: pheochromocytoma, neuroblastoma, paraganglioma.
