Test Requirements

Serum 1-2mL. Collect after vaccination or suspected exposure (ideally ≥14 days post-vaccination). Transport frozen (preferred) or refrigerated. Avoid hemolysis or lipemia.

Clinical Utility

Measures rabies virus–neutralizing IgG to assess immune response after vaccination, verify protective immunity (e.g., healthcare or laboratory exposure risk), support post-exposure prophylaxis monitoring, and document immunity for occupational health or travel requirements. It does NOT diagnose acute rabies infection.
