Test Requirements
Serum in plain tube (red top) or SST tube (yellow top) or in a separation vial. Centrifuge tubes within 1 hour. Separate centrifuged serum in plain tubes within 1 hour.
Test components: Free kappa light chains, Free lambda light chains, Kappa/lambda ratio.

Clinical Utility
Diagnose & monitor patients with monoclonal gammopathies e.g. multiple myeloma. Kappa and lambda light chains and their ratio are determined with abnormal rations indicating clonal plasma cell proliferation.
