CONTAINER Plastic leak proof urine container, no preservative COLLECTION INSTRUCTIONS. 24 hour urine collection instructions apply [refer to relevant phlebotomy aid (Phleb/Aid7) or lab handbook section on 24 hour urine collection or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjF-9n0FOrw video]. Optional protocol: Instruct the patient to void at 8 AM and discard the specimen. Then collect all urine including the final specimen voided at the end of the 24-hour collection period (i.e. 8 AM the next morning). Avoid contact with metal during collection. Screw the lid on securely. If an aliquot sample is being sent, indicate TOTAL urine volume in mL (mandatory) and submit a 10mL urine aliquot.
