Clinical Utility
CSF microscopy, culture, and sensitivity are crucial for diagnosing meningitis and encephalitis. Microscopy provides rapid initial assessment, culture identifies specific pathogens, and sensitivity testing guides targeted antibiotic therapy. This combination enables prompt, accurate diagnosis and treatment of potentially life-threatening central nervous system infections.
