CONTAINER/ PRESERVATIVE:
Synthetic (drayon, rayon or polyester fibre) swabs, placed in viral transport media (VTM) or other appropriate media & well capped. First morning urine should be collected in a sterile container.
SAMPLE VOLUME:
>3 mL urine/ fluid or entire LBC vial or entire VTM vial or appropriate swab in transport tube. Cotton swabs are NOT acceptable.
Clinical Utility
Diagnosis of Chlamydia trachomatis infection via detection of C. trachomatis DNA.
