Test Requirements
3mL blood or bone marrow aspirate in SODIUM heparin (green top) vacutainer PROMPTLY DELIVERED to the lab. Bone marrow volume must not be <1mL. Blood volume must not be <2mL.
Clinical history is required.
Use cold pack for transport, making sure cold pack is not in direct contact with specimen. Do not freeze.
Clinical Utility
Identifying and tracking known chromosome abnormalities in patients with MDS and monitoring response to therapy.
