3mL urine sample (commonest specimen type)
Other alternate sample types: Urethral swab, endocervical swab, first morning/ first void (first portion) urine sample. If a urine sample is submitted, patient should not have urinated for at least 1 hour prior to collection
Test components: CT, NG, MG, TV.
Clinical Utility
Evaluation of sexually transmitted infections from Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoea, Mycoplasma genitalium, Trichomonas vaginalis.
