The hematology department headed by pathologists offers testing including but not limited to complete blood count (hemogram), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), peripheral blood film examination for neoplastic and non-neoplastic conditions, fluid cell counts, prothrombin time (PT/ INR) for suspected bleeding disorders or to evaluate response to warfarin therapy, activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT), blood grouping (ABO & Rhesus D), direct Coombs test (DCT), indirect Coombs test (ICT), bone marrow examination, testing for malaria, sickling test etc.
